Sacramento Toddler Dies in Crash
Boy, 1, Pronounced Dead After Vehicle Leaves Roadway
A 1-year-old Sacramento boy died Thursday morning in a crash that also sent a woman and another child to the hospital, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The CHP reported that the crash occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. on northbound Interstate 5 near the Pocket Road off-ramp. A woman driving a 2004 Saturn Ion lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and overturn.
CHP Investigating Cause of Crash
The CHP is currently investigating the cause of the crash. The woman and the other child in the vehicle were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has not yet released the name of the deceased child.
